HRDI

Human Resources Development Institute, Inc. (HRDI) is a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Founded by Dr. C. Vincent Bakeman and Doris M. Lomax, HRDI employs 200 people. With nearly 50 years of experience, HRDI has grown to become a comprehensive health and human service enterprise serving over 8,000 clients annually across a variety of services. HRDI offers over 30 programs focused on a range of critical needs within the communities it serves. These programs cover areas such as alcohol and substance use disorder, youth prevention, family services, community health, case management, mental health and disabilities, alternative youth education, HIV/AIDS prevention and education, and gambling prevention and education. HRDI is dedicated to serving individuals at the lowest socio-economic levels who face significant challenges contributing to premature death, including homicide, sexually-transmitted diseases, HIV infection, and poor health maintenance.
