Houston Cinema Arts Society

Founded in Houston, Texas, Houston Cinema Arts Society (HCAS) is a non-profit organization committed to fostering the cinematic arts. With a dedicated team of 10 employees, HCAS generates $8 million in annual revenue. HCAS offers a diverse range of programs designed to engage and educate the community through film. Their flagship events include the annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival, held each November, and the CineSpace short film competition in partnership with NASA. Additionally, they host the Borders | No Borders regional short film competition and the Black Media Story Summit, a collaboration with Black Public Media, the Austin Film Society, and the Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation.
