Hoola Na Pua

Ho`ōla Nā Pua (HNP), which translates to “New Life for Our Children,” is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The organization employs 25 people and generates revenue exceeding $10,000. HNP works to combat the alarming rate of sex trafficking, particularly among youth in Hawaii. Their mission is to protect young people and support the healing of survivors through various programs. These include educational sessions for students, staff, and various professionals on recognizing and responding to sex trafficking, weekly group sessions for youth at juvenile facilities focusing on resilience and healthy life skills, and a mentoring program pairing at-risk or exploited youth with dedicated mentors. One of HNP's most significant initiatives is the development of Pearl Haven, a residential treatment campus for commercially sexually exploited girls in Hawaii. Once completed, Pearl Haven will provide a safe and comprehensive healing environment for 32 girls aged 11 to 17. The campus will offer individual and group therapy, clinical care, and family therapy, alongside educational opportunities and enrichment activities.
