HHV6 Foundation

The HHV-6 Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Montecito, California. With 14 employees, the Foundation is dedicated to advancing research and awareness surrounding the HHV-6 virus. The HHV-6 Foundation supports the scientific community through various initiatives. These include organizing conferences for virologists and clinical researchers, maintaining a repository of research reagents, and providing pilot grants to promising research projects. Their goal is to encourage the discovery of antiviral compounds effective against HHV-6 and raise awareness among physicians about the virus's association with various conditions. A key strength of the Foundation lies in its leadership. Dharam Ablashi, co-discoverer of the HHV-6 virus and a veteran of the National Cancer Institute, serves as Scientific Director. Kristin Loomis, founder of the organization, leads the Foundation as Executive Director. The Scientific Advisory Board comprises leading experts in HHV-6 research.
