Hepatitis Education Project

Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency located in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1993, HEP employs 19 individuals. HEP provides a range of programs focused on improving the health of underserved communities disproportionately affected by viral hepatitis. These programs include Prevention and Outreach, Medical Case Management, Correctional Health, and Policy and Advocacy. HEP serves individuals at risk for or living with viral hepatitis, particularly those experiencing homelessness, housing instability, lack of insurance, drug use, incarceration, or immigration challenges. Driven by social justice and harm reduction principles, HEP offers low-barrier services designed to mitigate the negative consequences associated with drug use, homelessness, incarceration, and infectious diseases. Additionally, HEP manages the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) and the National Hepatitis Corrections Network (NHCN). HEP's website can be accessed at hepeducation.org.
