Hammond Castle Museum

Hammond Castle Museum is a non-profit organization based in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a unique blend of architectural styles, including medieval castle, French chateau, and Gothic cathedral. Founded in 1930, it was built by John Hays Hammond Jr., a renowned inventor known as "The Father of Radio Control." The museum employs 19 people. The Hammond Castle Museum offers self-guided, guided, and specialty tours showcasing its architectural features, including facades of medieval shops and doorways from French chateaus. Visitors can also explore Hammond's extensive collection of patents, his pioneering work in radio control, and his contributions to guided torpedo technology for the military. In addition to tours, the museum hosts numerous educational and cultural events throughout the year and is available for corporate and private event rentals.
