The Gwinnett County Police Department is a government agency based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The department employs 162 people and has an authorized strength of 905 sworn officers and 289 civilian employees. The Gwinnett County Police Department serves a population of over 800,000 residents across 437 square miles in the northeast part of metro Atlanta. The department is responsible for public safety and law enforcement within the county. They operate six precincts across the county, a state-of-the-art training facility, and a 911 call center staffed with 124 communications officers.
