GW Alternative Breaks

GW Alternative Breaks is a student-led organization located in Washington, District of Columbia. Founded as a single-person operation, GW Alternative Breaks has grown to generate approximately $1 million in annual revenue. GW Alternative Breaks offers substance-free, community service-learning trips during fall, winter, and spring breaks. These trips, led by students, cater to groups of 10-50 participants and span locations across the globe, allowing students to engage in active service and gain new perspectives on social issues. Each trip focuses on a unique service area, and students participate in pre-trip education meetings to gain knowledge about the community and issue they'll be addressing. Through these experiences, GW Alternative Breaks aims to empower students to become active citizen leaders, fostering personal growth, social awareness, and active citizenship.
