Governors Institute on Substance Abuse

The Governor's Institute on Substance Abuse is a non-profit organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a non-governmental entity, the institute is dedicated to enhancing North Carolina's capacity to effectively address substance use disorders through prevention, treatment, and recovery initiatives. With a team of 19 employees, the institute has a proven track record of success in this field. The Governor's Institute focuses on improving substance use disorder services by collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. These include medical and behavioral health professionals, research and training institutions, and state and federal agencies such as the NC Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services (DMH,DD,SAS), the NC Division of Public Health, and the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
