Who is Global Equity Fund
Global Equity Fund is a limited-enrollment investment fund located in Washington, District of Columbia. It is managed by 18 students enrolled in the part-time MBA and Master of Finance programs at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School. The fund focuses on managing and investing money from the school’s endowment fund, primarily in companies located outside the United States. Students gain hands-on experience researching companies and making investment decisions. The goal of the fund managers is to outperform the MSCI All Country ex US Index while also gaining a deep understanding of the investment process in a professional asset management setting. Students utilize various analytical tools and resources to inform their investment decisions. These include industry analysis, discounted cash flow (DCF) and comparable valuation, multiples and sensitivity analysis conducted in Excel, along with Bloomberg, Morningstar, IBIS World, and 10K reports.
