Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee

Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee is a non-profit organization based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With 10 employees, the organization serves over 2,200 girls annually in grades 3-8 across seven counties. Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee provides a physical activity-based positive youth development (PYD) program designed to enhance girls' social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors. The program utilizes a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running and other physical activities to develop competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls. The organization's program culminates in two 5K events per year, serving as a tangible demonstration of the girls' progress. Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 200 locations across the United States and has served over 1.5 million girls throughout its twenty-one year history.
