Girls Garage

Girls Garage is a nonprofit organization based in Berkeley, California. It is a dedicated workspace for girls* and female-identifying youth ages 9-18. Founded in 2013, Girls Garage employs 10 people and generates $2.5 million in annual revenue. Girls Garage offers free and low-cost programs in a variety of fields, including carpentry, welding, architecture, engineering, and activist art. These programs serve a diverse community of 200 girls annually. Through these programs, Girls Garage aims to equip girls with the tools to build the world they envision. Beyond technical skills, Girls Garage provides a supportive and safe environment for girls to express themselves and develop leadership skills. The organization offers 1:1 career and academic advising, workshops, and opportunities to participate in real-world building projects.
