Girl Be Heard

Girl Be Heard is a non-profit organization based in New York City dedicated to empowering young women through the transformative power of theatre. Founded with the mission of amplifying the voices of girls and creating a space for healing and self-expression, GBH provides a platform for young women to share their stories and connect with others who understand their experiences. GBH's innovative theatre and writing workshops are designed to address a range of issues faced by young women, including emotional and physical bullying, body image dysmorphia, low self-esteem, domestic violence, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and sexual abuse. Through these workshops, girls develop confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of community. Girl Be Heard's unique approach to social change focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment where girls feel empowered to speak their truth. By providing a platform for their voices to be heard, GBH aims to break the cycle of silence and stigma surrounding these issues. Girl Be Heard is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
