Get In The Game

Get In The Game is a social justice initiative based in the United States. Founded in 2020, the organization is a small business with 3 employees. Get In The Game focuses on educating and empowering youth to address issues of inequity in their communities. They work with middle and high school students, who are referred to as "GameChangers," through programs that incorporate peer-to-peer learning, group activities, and multimedia tools. These programs aim to enhance cross-racial communication and enable students to engage in important conversations about racial equity. Inspired by the unique bond between Wake Forest University head baseball coach Tom Walter and his former player Kevin Jordan, Get In The Game builds upon their powerful story of shared humanity. In 2011, Walter, a white man, donated a kidney to Jordan, a young Black man, demonstrating that regardless of skin color, "our blood is the same." This life-saving act sparked a nationwide conversation about racial equality, and the two men now use their story to inspire change and promote understanding.
