Who is Georgia Law Review
The Georgia Law Review is a student-run publication based in Athens, Georgia, and serves as the flagship journal of the University of Georgia School of Law. Staffed by 19 second- and third-year law students, the Review is the school's only general-subject legal journal. The journal publishes one volume annually, comprised of four quarterly issues. In addition to its regular publications, the Georgia Law Review hosts an annual Symposium and dedicates one issue to a current and important area of legal development. The Review aims to publish high-quality legal scholarship, featuring work from renowned law professors, judges, legal practitioners, and select notes written by student members. The Georgia Law Review's mission centers around two key objectives. First, the journal provides valuable legal education and training opportunities for its student editors. Through the process of selecting, editing, and publishing articles, editors develop and refine their research, writing, editorial, and leadership skills. Equally important, the journal serves as a platform for legal reform. As stated by Dean Lindsey Cowen in the inaugural issue, the Georgia Law Review aims to "seek out the weak points in our law, developing appropriate recommendations for change, and advocating them persuasively in its pages.”
