Georgia EMC

Georgia Electric Membership Corp. is a trade association based in Tucker, Georgia, with 79 employees. The organization serves as the statewide representative for Georgia's 41 electric membership cooperatives (EMCs). These cooperatives, in partnership with their statewide trade association and generation and transmission entities, strive to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to their members. Collectively, Georgia's EMCs provide service to 4.4 million people across 73 percent of the state's land area. Georgia EMC supports its member cooperatives through various initiatives. These include legislative representation at both the state and national levels, as well as community and economic development programs. Additionally, the association focuses on volunteerism, charitable giving, youth and education programs, training, and safety initiatives. Georgia EMC also advocates for its members on consumer issues, promotes environmental stewardship, handles media relations and communications, and provides member services. The organization publishes a monthly magazine, Georgia Magazine, for EMC consumers.
