Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer

The Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer is a non-profit organization based in the United States dedicated to improving breast cancer outcomes in Georgia. Founded in 2002 and previously known as "It's The Journey," GAABC is a small organization with a team of five employees. GAABC focuses on increasing access to breast cancer care and reducing disparities in cancer outcomes through various programs and events. Their flagship fundraising event, the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, has raised over $19 million since 2002, funding 511 grants that support breast cancer education, screening, early detection, support services, and continuing care for Georgians. They also host an annual Giving Gala to celebrate funded programs and raise additional funds. In addition to their signature events, GAABC organizes family-friendly run/walk events, the Georgia 5K Run for Breast Cancer (Macon) and the Georgia Fun Run for Breast Cancer (Athens), which raise funds to support programs in communities outside of metro-Atlanta. The organization also hosts the Celebrating Survivors Breakfast series, providing a platform for breast cancer patients and survivors to connect and learn from expert panels.
