Genassist Inc. is a privately owned company based in Cherry Creek, Colorado. Founded in 1983 by Hildegarde S. Wexler, the company was established to address the limited access to genetic information and lengthy turnaround times for test results. Genassist offers genetic consultation services and tools designed to assist patients, families, and healthcare providers in researching, recording, and reviewing family histories for inherited conditions. Their services include The GENASSIST Profile, which determines if a patient is a candidate for further genetic evaluation, and The GENASSIST Linear Profile, a screening tool for informed decision-making regarding inherited disease risks and the development of medical management plans. Dr. Paul Wexler, MD, conceived and developed The GENASSIST Linear Profile. Dr. Wexler, currently a Clinical Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, brings extensive expertise in genetics and pediatrics to Genassist. Genassist Inc. ceased operations on August 31, 2022.
