GEDSA StayConnected

GEDSA StayConnected is a nonprofit trade association based in Powell, Ohio. Established to advocate for the enteral device industry, GEDSA works to promote international standards for healthcare tubing connectors. With a team of four employees, GEDSA actively engages manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers worldwide. GEDSA StayConnected focuses on enhancing patient safety and optimizing enteral feeding through a program designed to minimize the risk of tubing misconnections. The initiative, known as Stay Connected, involves a three-phase approach: Aware, Prepare, and Adopt. GEDSA developed and implemented a comprehensive communications plan to guide organizations, clinicians, administrators, and supply chains through the transition to safer connectors aligned with the proposed ISO standard. The Stay Connected initiative has garnered significant support from leading healthcare organizations, including The Joint Commission, AAMI, the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Feeding Tube Awareness Foundation, The Institute for Safe Medication Practices, Premier Safety Institute, Novation. This collaborative effort underscores GEDSA StayConnected's commitment to improving patient care through safer healthcare practices.
