Friends of the Rainforest

Friends of the Rainforest is a non-profit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 2002, the organization, also known as Friend of the Children's Eternal Rainforest or FOTR, operates with a team of three employees. The organization focuses on promoting a sustainable world by encouraging children and adults to take action to protect and expand the Children's Eternal Rainforest in Monteverde, Costa Rica. This rainforest, the largest private reserve in Central America, spans 55,000 acres and is recognized for its exceptional biodiversity. Friends of the Rainforest supports the Monteverde Conservation League's work and programs within the rainforest while raising awareness about the vital need for conservation efforts in rainforest habitats. The organization's mission was born from a unique initiative where children around the world raised funds to preserve the rainforest. This grassroots effort highlights their dedication to engaging people of all ages in the fight for rainforest protection.
