Formula Slug

Formula Slug is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Santa Cruz, California, dedicated to providing real-world engineering experience for students at the University of California Santa Cruz. The organization is comprised of five employees and is student-led. Driven by a passion for automotive engineering, Formula Slug's primary focus is on participating in the annual Formula Society of Automotive Engineers Electric (FSAE) competition in Jackson, Michigan. Formula Slug's projects extend beyond the FSAE competition. The team has developed "Lincoln", a solar charging station designed specifically for the competition, and Small-Device Solar Charging Stations for use across the UCSC campus. These projects offer students valuable hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines. Formula Slug fosters a collaborative and team-oriented environment, encouraging students to develop their skills and contribute to innovative projects. All projects, from the FSAE racecar to the solar charging stations, are entirely student-led and executed, providing a unique and immersive learning experience.
