Formula Hybrid

Formula Hybrid is a program based in Hanover, New Hampshire, dedicated to fostering engineering and design skills in students. Employing 11 people, the program boasts a revenue of $2.5 million. Formula Hybrid is an interdisciplinary competition where students from undergraduate and graduate programs collaborate to design and build electric or plug-in hybrid race cars. These custom vehicles are then put to the test in a series of events, emphasizing drivetrain innovation and fuel efficiency in a high-performance setting. The competition is highly regarded within the engineering community, attracting support from prominent engineering companies and major automotive manufacturers. Participation in Formula Hybrid has proven beneficial for students, opening doors to job and internship opportunities. Formula Hybrid, founded and operated by Dartmouth since 2006, is a part of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Collegiate Design Series.
