Farmshare Austin

Farmshare Austin is a non-profit organization located in Cedar Creek, Texas. As a 501c3, they are dedicated to fostering a more equitable and sustainable local food system in Central Texas. With a team of 30 employees, Farmshare Austin operates on a mission to improve community food access and support the growth of new farmers. The organization combines farming and education to achieve their goals. Their 10-acre certified organic farm cultivates produce that is distributed through several programs. Their Fresh For Less initiative, in partnership with the City of Austin and Sustainable Food Center, aims to reduce barriers to healthy food access in Austin’s underserved communities. This is achieved through mobile markets and curbside delivery programs, bringing fresh produce to residents in the eastern crescent of Austin and Travis County. Farmshare Austin also runs the Farmer Starter program, an educational initiative for aspiring farmers. This pilot program provides aspiring farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to establish successful sustainable and organic farming businesses.
