eStewards is a Seattle, Washington based initiative focused on promoting responsible electronic waste management practices. Operating as a program of the Basel Action Network, eStewards offers the world's most stringent standard for electronics recycling and reuse. This standard, known as the e-Stewards Standard for Responsible Recycling and Reuse of Electronic Equipment, is upheld by over 70 environmental groups and corporations who support certified recyclers. The e-Stewards program provides certification for recyclers who adhere to its rigorous standards. In addition to certification, any corporation, city, or institution can become an e-Stewards Enterprise, signifying their commitment to preferentially using certified e-Stewards recyclers. eStewards Certified Recyclers undergo annual audits to ensure continuous compliance with the program's standards.
