Equity in Education Coalition

The Equity in Education Coalition (EEC) is a non-profit organization based in White Center, Washington. The coalition has a staff of 15 employees and generates annual revenue of $2.5 million. EEC was founded in 2012 in response to concerns that budget cuts in Washington State would disproportionately impact communities of color and low-income communities. The Equity in Education Coalition works to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for children of color in Washington State. They advocate for a more equitable and just education system where all children can thrive and succeed. ECC's members have firsthand experience with educational systems that have failed to adequately serve children of color, and they are committed to addressing the opportunity gap caused by factors such as race, homelessness, discrimination, language barriers, poverty, and family instability. EEC's approach is strategic and inclusive, representing a diverse range of backgrounds, perspectives, and circumstances. They strive to ensure that all children have access to quality education and the resources necessary to succeed.
