Ensemble Arkea

Ensemble Arkea is a chamber orchestra based in Montreal, Canada. With a core of 16 string instrumentalists, the ensemble employs 20 to 49 people. Ensemble Arkea is dedicated to sharing musical masterpieces from both past and present with audiences of all backgrounds. Under the direction of conductor Dina Gilbert, they offer innovative interpretations of orchestral music and showcase the talent of Canadian composers through commissioned original works. The ensemble has presented approximately ten concerts in Verdun, Montreal, and Ottawa since its inception. This year, Ensemble Arkea will host the second edition of the Accès Arkea composition contest, produced by Codes d’accès concert company. The ensemble aims to create a unique concert experience for its audience and push beyond traditional classical music conventions.
