ELSO The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization

ELSO The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization is a non-profit organization based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. With a staff of 59 employees, ELSO is dedicated to advancing therapies for individuals with failing organ systems. ELSO focuses on the development, evaluation, and registry of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy, a life-saving treatment that supports the function of the lungs and heart. The organization also supports research into other novel organ system support therapies. ELSO's mission is to maintain a registry of ECMO usage at active ELSO centers and to disseminate this data to support clinical research, regulatory agencies, and individual centers. In addition to its registry functions, ELSO offers educational programs for both healthcare professionals and the general public. These programs aim to raise awareness about ECMO and other organ support therapies, as well as provide training and resources to healthcare providers.
