Elevated Chicago ETOD

Elevated Chicago ETOD is a small, three-employee organization based in Chicago, Illinois, focused on promoting racial equity and prosperity within Chicago communities. Elevated Chicago achieves this through the implementation of equitable transit-oriented development (ETOD), utilizing transit stations as catalysts for positive change. The organization believes that the half-mile radius surrounding transit stations can be transformed into equitable hubs for climate resilience, health, and cultural enrichment. Elevated Chicago's programs aim to empower community-driven development, bridging the gap between programming and the built environment to create opportunities and connections across Chicago's extensive transit system. Since its inception around seven CTA eHubs, Elevated Chicago has expanded its reach to nearly two dozen Elevated Chicago Plus communities. Their influence extends to policy, as they played a key role in developing the City of Chicago's first ETOD Policy Plan and awarding grants for eleven demonstration projects. Through initiatives like the Equitable Development Ambassadors and the J.E.D.I. cohort with the Metropolitan Planning Council, Elevated Chicago fosters a growing network of advocates for ETOD.
