EgyptianAmerican Rule of Law Association

The EgyptianAmerican Rule of Law Association (EARLA) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, District of Columbia. The association is comprised of eight employees and generates $1 million in annual revenue. EARLA provides legal technical assistance to various entities in Egypt who are dedicated to promoting the rule of law. This includes lawyers, judges, scholars, practitioners, civil society actors, and non-profit organizations. The organization focuses on improving government transparency and accountability while also safeguarding media and citizen access to information. EARLA accomplishes its mission by working with its Egyptian partners to develop structural reforms to laws and procedures. These reforms aim to make the legal system more accessible, fair, and efficient.
