Who is EAF Siga Antenado
EAF Siga Antenado is a non-profit organization based in the United States. Established by the Brazilian telecommunications regulatory agency (Anatel), the entity was created to facilitate the rollout of 5G technology in Brazil. It is comprised of the telecommunications operators Claro, Tim, and Vivo, who were the winners of the national bidding rounds for 5G licenses in the 3.5 GHz band. EAF Siga Antenado's responsibilities include migrating the existing analog TV broadcasting (TVRO) from the C-band to the KU-band through the installation of free digital satellite dish kits for beneficiaries of federal social programs. They are also tasked with clearing the 3.5GHz frequency band for the deployment of 5G services, a process which involves the decommissioning of existing fixed satellite services (FSS) operating in that band. The organization is further responsible for implementing six information highways as part of the Norte Conectado project, aiming to improve internet connectivity in northern Brazil. Additionally, they are tasked with implementing a private communication network for the Brazilian federal government. For more information, visit eaf.org.br.
