Who is Department of Lands and Surveys
The Department of Lands and Surveys is a department of the Ministry of Interior in the Republic of Cyprus. With 275 employees, the department is one of the largest in the Republic, having been established long ago. The Department of Lands and Surveys is responsible for managing all major land matters in Cyprus. This includes surveying, maintenance of state survey infrastructure, mapping, investigation into title, registration, conveyance, valuations, conservation and management of state lands, compulsory acquisition/requisitions, and encumbrances. The department also administers statutes providing services for the property rights of individuals. The Department acts as the Official Cartographic Organization of the Republic, compiling, producing, and issuing maps and plans where state copyright is reserved.
