DC Court of Appeals

The District of Columbia Court of Appeals is a judicial institution located in Washington, United States. It is comprised of a Chief Judge and eight Associate Judges, along with a roster of Senior Judges who provide support. The court serves as the highest court in the District of Columbia, handling appeals from the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, administrative agencies, boards, and commissions within the District government. Additionally, it answers legal questions posed by the Supreme Court of the United States, United States Courts of Appeals, and the highest appellate courts of other states. Beyond its appellate functions, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals is responsible for managing attorney admissions to the D.C. Bar, overseeing attorney discipline, resolving complaints regarding unauthorized practice of law, and establishing rules of conduct for members of the District of Columbia Bar.
