Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation

The Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation (CGMF) is a grantmaking foundation based in Austin, Texas. Employing nine people, the organization is dedicated to funding high-impact projects across the state. CGMF focuses its grantmaking efforts on a variety of environmental, social, and economic issues. These include clean energy, Galveston Bay restoration, land conservation, subsurface energy development, sustainability education, and water resource management. The foundation also operates the Mitchell Innovation Lab and Cook’s Branch Conservancy. Beyond its core grantmaking programs, CGMF makes select grants to organizations that align with the legacy, values, and vision of Cynthia and George Mitchell and the Mitchell family.
