CTTRANSIT

CTtransit is a state-owned fixed-route bus system headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut. With divisions in New Haven and Stamford, the company employs 1,250 people. CTtransit operates a fleet of 520 buses that transport approximately 20 million riders annually within the CTtransit Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford markets. The company provides service to more than 60 cities and towns in Connecticut and the bordering state of New York. CTtransit operates a network of nearly 100 local and 13 express bus routes, serving the Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford areas. CTtransit also operates in Waterbury, New Britain, Bristol, Meriden, and Wallingford, as well as other services operated by private companies under contract with the state. In 2015, CTtransit launched CTfastrak, a regional bus rapid transit system, connecting downtown Hartford and downtown New Britain. The Hartford-New Britain Busway utilizes existing railroad rights-of-way.
