CPCD giving children a head start

CPCD giving children a head start is a non-profit organization located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Founded in 1987, the organization began as a spin-off from Catholic Charities to manage the Head Start program in El Paso County. Today, CPCD has grown to employ approximately 350 people and operates nearly 70 classrooms throughout El Paso County. CPCD offers a range of early childhood education programs, serving over 1,800 children and their families annually. Their core programs include Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Programs for preschool-aged children, as well as the Early Head Start program for pregnant women, infants, and toddlers. CPCD also operates a community-funded preschool classroom, established through the Fill A Seat Project which helped restore preschool access after funding cuts in 2013. CPCD's mission is to prepare children for success in school and in life by providing comprehensive early childhood services.
