Who is Cornell University Sustainable Design
Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD) is a student-led project team based in Ithaca, New York. CUSD is made up of over 100 students from a variety of academic departments who are dedicated to promoting education through hands-on experience in sustainable design and building. CUSD offers students opportunities to participate in design-build projects that range in scale from small renovations to the design and construction of entire communities. Projects have taken place locally, regionally, and internationally, including an early childhood education center in Johannesburg, South Africa; a model home with eco-technologies in Nagarote, Nicaragua; energy generation research for the Cornell Tech campus; and various community building projects. The team focuses on achieving ecological, social, and economic sustainability through comprehensive analysis of every input and its effects on performance within a system.
