Cornell Steel Bridge

Cornell Steel Bridge is a student-run project team based in the United States. Comprised of 10 employees, the team focuses on design, fabrication, and construction of a steel bridge for annual competition. Each year, the team dedicates itself to designing and building a bridge optimized for lightness, speed of construction, and reduced deflection. Students leverage their classroom knowledge to create a functional and efficient structure. The Cornell Steel Bridge project offers a unique opportunity for students to move beyond theory and actively participate in the hands-on construction process. Students gain valuable experience in cutting, drilling, and welding the bridge components together. This practical experience complements their academic learning and provides a deeper understanding of the engineering principles involved in bridge construction.
