Con Amore School

Con Amore School is a non-profit organization based in Kempton Park, dedicated to educating and supporting children with complex disabilities. Founded in 1975, the school serves approximately 513 children with severe and profound intellectual impairments, often resulting from conditions such as neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, Down's syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, or birth complications. Many of these learners also have physical impairments. The school provides a comprehensive range of services, including vocationally-based education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social work. Con Amore School also offers social welfare and feeding support, transportation, assistive devices for mobility and communication, and other essential resources. Their goal is to empower each child to reach their full potential and become contributing members of society. Con Amore School focuses on a holistic approach, recognizing the unique needs of each child, their parents, and their siblings. A multidisciplinary team of specialists works together to provide individualised intervention and support throughout the child's journey from age six until graduation from the accredited post-school program at age 18.
