Con Amore School

Con Amore School is a non-profit organization based in Kempton Park, providing specialized education and therapy for children with complex disabilities. Established in 1975, the school serves approximately 513 children from a 60-km radius around Greater East Rand, focusing exclusively on learners with severe and profound intellectual impairments. These impairments often stem from neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, syndromes, traumatic brain injuries, or birth complications, and many learners also have physical impairments. Con Amore School's programs involve occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, offering vocational-based education tailored to each child's unique needs. Beyond academics, the school provides comprehensive support, including social welfare, feeding programs, transportation, assistive devices for mobility and communication, ensuring holistic intervention for learners, their parents, and siblings. The school's mission is to empower each child to reach their fullest potential, starting at age six and continuing until graduation from the accredited post-school program at age 18.
