Collegiate Times

Collegiate Times is a student-run newspaper based in Blacksburg, Virginia. Established in 1903 at Virginia Tech, the organization operates as a division of the Educational Media Company at Virginia Tech Inc. Currently, Collegiate Times employs 57 individuals. Initially focused on sports, Collegiate Times has evolved into a daily publication covering campus news, features, sports, and opinions. Published Monday and Thursdays throughout the academic year, except during exams and breaks, the newspaper boasts a circulation of 14,000 copies with a readership exceeding 26,000. Collegiate Times generates revenue through advertising and subscription sales, having ceased receiving university funding in 1979. Their advertising is managed by Collegiate Times sister company, College Media Solutions. The newspaper maintains offices in 365 Squires Student Center. Collegiate Times holds memberships in several prominent organizations, including the Associated Collegiate Press, Virginia Press Association, Southern University Newspapers, College Media Advisers, and the College Newspaper Business and Advertising Manager Association.
