College Steps

College Steps is a United States-based organization located in Clarksburg, Maryland. With 79 employees, College Steps generates an estimated $100 million in annual revenue. College Steps works with colleges, high schools, and parents to support students facing social, communication, and/or learning challenges. They aim to help these students achieve their academic, social, independent living, and career goals. The organization emphasizes self-advocacy, employment training, and independent living skills development to prepare students for successful careers and increased autonomy after graduation. Each program is overseen by a full-time, on-campus Program Coordinator who holds a Master's degree in special education. These coordinators supervise and train a network of Peer Mentors, who are graduate and undergraduate students committed to supporting the needs of College Steps scholars.
