COIC

Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) is a Council of Governments (COG) based in Bend, Oregon. Founded in 1972, COIC is a public employer operating under ORS 190 and is comprised of elected officials from the counties of Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson, as well as the cities of Bend, Culver, LaPine, Madras, Metolius, Prineville, Redmond, and Sisters. With over 120 employees, COIC serves as a regional planning and service delivery organization. COIC provides a variety of services to its member governments and residents, including employment and training programs, alternative high school education, business loans, transportation, and community and economic development initiatives. Notably, COIC operates Cascades East Transit, the Central Oregon region's public transit system. COIC's Board is composed of elected officials from the member governments, as well as appointed representatives from private business, post-secondary education, and Chambers of Commerce.
