Climate Resilient Communities

Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) is a community-based organization located in East Palo Alto, California. Founded in 2016, CRC is a small organization with 12 employees and generates approximately $2.5 million USD in annual revenue. CRC empowers communities to implement climate solutions through three core areas: Community-Based Adaptation Planning, Resilient Homes, and Climate Action Education. Their Community-Based Adaptation Planning focuses on creating programs that address local priorities in response to climate change impacts like wildfire smoke, extreme heat, and sea-level rise. CRC partners with community teams in East Palo Alto and North Fair Oaks to implement city-wide adaptation and resilience planning. CRC's Resilient Homes program assists low-income homeowners in East Palo Alto and Belle Haven by connecting them with free solar, home repair, and weatherization programs funded by the State of California. CRC's Climate Action Education program aims to increase youth engagement and training in climate action. Partnering with organizations like Oxford Day Academy, Green Ninja project, San Mateo County’s YESS program, Grassroots Ecology, and Stanford, CRC piloted the Earthwise Kids program in 2019.
