Clemson University Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center is a research cooperative located at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. The center employs 23 people and generates $50 million in annual revenue. The Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center (EPIC) focuses on biomedical research concerning eukaryotic pathogens, the organisms responsible for serious diseases such as malaria, amoebic dysentery, sleeping sickness, Chagas disease, and fungal meningitis. Their research aims to understand and combat these pathogens, which are a growing threat due to globalization and their potential as bioterrorism agents or neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
