Childrens Literacy Initiative

Childrens Literacy Initiative (CLI) is a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1988, CLI employs 98 people and generates an annual revenue of $50 million. CLI focuses on closing the reading achievement gap between children from low-income families and their middle-class peers. They achieve this by providing classroom libraries of up to 200 carefully selected children's books and offering professional development to pre-K through 3rd grade teachers in effective literacy instruction.
