Central Ohio Diabetes Association

The Central Ohio Diabetes Association is a non-profit organization based in Columbus, Ohio. Founded over 50 years ago, the organization has grown to employ 24 people and generates an estimated $100 million in annual revenue. It merged with LifeCare Alliance in 2017. The Central Ohio Diabetes Association provides a variety of programs and services for individuals living with diabetes in Central Ohio. Their primary focus is on helping people understand and manage their condition, prevent complications, and live healthy lives. The organization offers day camps and residential camps for youth and teens with diabetes, providing a supportive and educational environment. The association's camp program caters to different age groups and experience levels. Kids Camp, designed for children aged 3-7, emphasizes exploration, friendship, and diabetes education. Stepping Stones is an introductory program for ages 8-12, offering a taste of camp life before a full residential experience. Camp Hamwi, for ages 7-17, features a diverse range of activities, including horseback riding, archery, sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures, all while incorporating diabetes education into daily routines.
