Center for Reflective Parenting

Center for Reflective Communities (CRC) is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2008, CRC employs three people and generates annual revenue of $2.5 million. The organization is dedicated to developing reflective communities where all children can thrive. CRC strengthens the bonds between children and their caregivers through a range of training programs and initiatives. These programs are designed to promote healthy development for children, families, and communities. CRC's mindful and reflective approach to mental health and early childhood development is taught to professionals who then implement the innovative programs with families and children in need. CRC's model programs, the Reflective Parenting Program (RPP) and Mindful Parenting Groups (MPG), are recognized by the California Institute of Mental Health and the L.A. County Department of Mental Health. They are designated as evidence-based models for prevention and early intervention in parenting and family difficulties. CRC also conducts research to evaluate the effectiveness of its programs. In collaboration with UCLA and Children's Institute, Inc., they initiated a five-year federally funded randomized control trial examining the impact of RPP on school readiness in 3-5 year olds.
