Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research CBAR

The Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) is a large research center located in Boston, Massachusetts. Comprised of over 100 professionals, including biostatisticians and epidemiologists, CBAR is part of the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. CBAR focuses on developing statistical methods for clinical trials and research studies related to infectious diseases, particularly HIV. Their work includes innovative strategies for designing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting research studies. They specialize in patient-focused outcome measures, competing risks data, personalized treatment approaches, and technology comparisons. CBAR also develops sophisticated epidemiological models for evaluating treatment benefits while accounting for confounding factors. A key component of CBAR's mission is training and education. They offer programs to build biostatistical expertise at institutions in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia.
