Center for Animal Research and Education

Center for Animal Research and Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Bridgeport, Texas. Established in 2003, CARE employs 9 individuals. CARE provides a safe, permanent, and loving home to exotic animals in need. The organization focuses on providing excellent physical and emotional care, advocating animal welfare through education, and conducting minimally-invasive research. CARE's residents include snow leopards, mountain lions, African lions, tigers, black and spotted leopards, ring-tail lemurs, and a coati. Animals at CARE come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from abused and abandoned animals, retired performers, animals from zoos facing financial hardship, and those surrendered by sanctuaries exceeding capacity.
