CEDO Centro Intercultural del Desierto y del OcÃano

CEDO Centro Intercultural del Desierto y del OcÃano is a non-profit organization based in Tucson, Arizona. Founded in 1987, CEDO boasts a team of 28 employees and generates $8 million in annual revenue. The organization collaborates with two Mexican entities and one in the United States to achieve its vision of prosperous coastal communities, sustainable lifestyles, and healthy ecosystems. CEDO focuses on integrating people, knowledge, and solutions for active communities and resilient ecosystems in the northern Gulf of California and beyond. Their work extends to financing and operating programs aimed at ecological preservation and sustainable development. CEDO's 35-year history in Mexico has resulted in significant contributions to the formation, operation, and success of several protected areas, including the El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserves, the Alto Golfo de California and Delta del Río Colorado Biosphere Reserve, the Vaquita Refuge, Isla San Jorge, and the Ramsar Wetlands of Bahía Adair and Bahía San Jorge.
