Capones Speakeasy

Capone’s Speakeasy is a new restaurant and bar located in Alameda, California. The establishment is the brainchild of Mark J. Strachan, who also owns a local construction company. With five employees, Capone’s Speakeasy is a growing business that has generated over $10,000 in revenue. Capone’s Speakeasy offers both dining and nightlife experiences. The restaurant boasts a full dinner menu with an emphasis on small plates, including a standout dish of bacon wrapped lobster tail. The bar is one of the longest in the Bay Area, featuring a 72-foot bar constructed with original marble from the building's past life as a Wells Fargo bank. The space is unique, occupying a historic 7,000 square foot building dating back to 1888. The restaurant features 24-foot ceilings, chandeliers, columns, and four vintage vaults, two of which are incorporated into the bar. One particularly impressive vault, built in 1921, will be transformed into a private dining room. The restaurant's décor includes oil paintings by artist Ian Ross.
